Making Batik Cloth 2-14-2015

We were able to learn about how to make Batik cloth and make our own.

next we choose stamps
First we dye our fabric a color

3rd we dip them in wax
then dye it a second color
then stamp the wax in a pattern on the cloth to protect that area from 2nd color

it does not look right

but as it dries it turns the right color

then they put it in boiling water to take off the wax

Dr Hill and his wife, Larry and I presented a health fair in the Kaneshie stake. We presented health topics and then did screenings. It was successful and the elders got some referrals out of it.

Trip to Cape Coast Jan 15,2015

Darrell & Shelly Miles our friends from home are serving in the Cape Coast Mission so we went to stay with them and have them show us the area. It was fun to renew friendships and compare stories. Their mission is the next one to the west about 3 hours. They were in Liberia but were moved due to the Ebola outbreak.

We totally refurbished the apartment before we moved in. New paint tile floors, new granite counter tops, walls in the bathroom, a new vanity for the bathroom, moved the washer-new one that actually uses hot water. We love it.
